Dr. Erica Lacher at her Newberry, FL Haul-In Facility. Springhill Equine is Alachua County's only facility providing around the clock care, enabling you to continue with the rest of life's responsibilities.
Dr Lacher's passion began while growing up in the Tampa Bay area where as a child she gained her equestrian experience in nearly every discipline before settling on showing Appaloosas. With her Appaloosas, she earned several National and World Championships. Later she began showing hunters and jumpers and eventually bred several of her current show horses. Her passion, understanding and love for horses was fostered during her childhood building a balance of knowledge and compassion that would serve her throughout her education, and eventually her medical practice at Springhill.

Dr. Lacher's love for the Gainesville area began while attending the University of Florida. While in veterinary school, Dr. Lacher specialized in equine veterinary medicine from the very beginning. She earned awards for her knowledge in the areas of equine surgery and general equine knowledge. Upon graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, she diversified and expanded her education at Las Colinas Veterinary Clinic in Texas. While there, Dr. Lacher mastered the latest technologies including nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan), endoscopy, digital radiography, stem cell therapy and surgical techniques. Erica couldn't stay away from Gator Country and returned in 2002 to join Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Lacher has a special interest in the performance horse. She is always seeking ways to improve the quality and longevity of performance we can achieve with our horses. She employs digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy along with her extensive equine experience to reach a diagnosis.
